 Dear FBC Family,
What a wonderful Mother’s Day! We had good worship, a public profession of faith, guests, the Lord’s Supper, and a sermon (you who were here can decide how good it was!). As my father loves to say, “I have never had a day like this before” and I can honestly say “I have never had a Mother’s Day like this one before!”
As I think about our new roof that is being put on (we pray it is completed within 3 weeks), I realize we have never had this type of roof before here at FBC. My thoughts then race to the fact that I have never been your pastor before, our new members have never been members here before, some of our guests had never heard of us before, and on and on and on the story can go! Life is full of “firsts” and, therefore, new things.
What are your thoughts and feelings about new things or “first things”? Do you like the idea or do you wish everything would stay the same? I hope one of the reasons that I like new things is because I know the God who says He will make “all things new” (see 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 6:15; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation 21:1-5)!
1. Name something new for you this year. Tell someone who doesn’t know about it yet.
2. What new things would you like to experience during the rest of this year?
3. How will you greet the new things that come your way this next week?

Always remember that your attitude is everything - and it is always showing!
 Eagerly anticipating the NEW,
 Marty
